American Corners in Macedonia are organizing national youth summer camp “American Summer... in Macedonia” with the support of the U.S. Embassy Macedonia
The Goal:The main objective of the camp is to strengthen the role young people from Macedonia play as future community and world leaders. The camp will provide a unique learning environment with discussions, presentations, guest speakers, outdoor/environmental activities and interactive approaches to leadership training. The participants will learn more about the American culture, society, values, culture, democracy and education, as well as improve their English in communication with native speakers.
Who Can Apply:
Students ages 16 to 18 from ALL AROUND MACEDONIAare encouraged to apply. The application form should be filled in English. 60 students will be selected.
Camp Dates & Location: June 24 - 28 2013 , Hotel "Biser" - Struga
Costs: The participation in the camp is completely free for all participants!
The American Corners Macedonia and the U.S Embassy in Skopje joined with Battery Dance Company to bring together the “Dancing to Connect” Project in Macedonia. This project, starting from April 8th and lasting until April 13th, created by Battery Dance Company Institute is successfully conducted in over 30 countries around the world. The idea of this 5 - day workshop is to teach new skills, to help build self-confidence, to work in teams, to provide interaction with U.S. Teaching Artists, to teach the participants to follow English based instructions and while so to enhance their English speaking fluency. This program provides in-depth training for approximately 20 youth in each of the 5 respected cities with American Corners, as well as one high-visibility performance at the end of the training period, that took place at the Skopje Dance Fest 2013.
