Grounhog Day - the Winter will be over soon!

(February 2, 2011)

Today is Groundhog Day! According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow today, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If it is sunny, the groundhog will get scared from its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. This year's prediction?

Punxsutawney Phil, the Groundhog

The Prognosticator of Prognosticators, Punxsutawney Phil, once again appeared at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob in the Pennsylvania Wilds to make his annual prediction.

Phil surveyed his surroundings and found no shadow, so an early spring it will be!! YAY!
