National Spelling Bee


The first National Spelling Bee was held on Saturday, May 15 2010.
Approximately 400 students from all over Macedonia were competing in four categories.

These are the winners:

5th & 6th Grade Competition
1st Place - Hristijan Bosikovski ( Bitola)
2nd Place - Cristea Teodora (Skopje)
3rd Place - Ilina Dimovska (Veles)

7th & 8th Grade Competition
1st Place - Hristijan Petrovski (Bitola)
2nd Place - Angel Misa (Struga)
3rd Place - Andrej Nastevski (Bitola)

9th &10th Grade Competition
1st place - Aleksandra Zafirovska (Kumanovo)
2nd place - Sara Lazarovska (Skopje)
3rd place - Filip Merkovski (Bitola)

11th & 12th Grade Competition
1st place - Filip Kulakov (Stip)
2nd place - Ilija Lazarov (Skopje)
3rd place - Goran Dimov (Skopje)

Join the second annual "GO PINK! Walk Against Breast Cancer"


The NGOs Borka and Alfa Omega, along with support from the US Embassy invite you to the second GO PINK walk on Sunday, May 16 at 11 AM in the City Park by the stage (Skolka)! The event will raise breast cancer awareness and funds for a new chemotherapy clinic in Skopje. With a donation of 200 denars, you will receive a GO PINK t-shirt and show your support for this important cause. Immediately following the walk there will be several performances by popular Macedonian bands. Last year’s event drew more than 2000 people and was a huge success! Join us again this year to stand united in opposing breast cancer.


Join all those who dare to oppose breast cancer! Unit with us! Become a hero of support! Donate 200 denars, and receive a pink jersey! Get involved in the big pink tour! Sunday, 16th May 2010, 11:00 am, in City Park by the stage (Skolka). We look forward to seeing you there!

Presentations "The US Justice System"

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a series of the presentation

"U.S. Criminal System of Justice"
With JIMMYE S. WARREN, Resident Legal Advisor
U.S. Department of Justice
Jimmye S. Warren is the Resident Legal Advisor at the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training, within the U.S. Department of Justice.

The presentation will focus on the Structure of the U.S. Court System, Judicial Ethics, Criminal Procedures and Defendant’s Rights. There will also be a 30 minute Q&A session to allow time for your questions.

The schedule for these presentations is as follows:
